AppleCare+ Costs $199 for iPhone X
For iPhone X buyers, the already hefty price for Apple's 10th-anniversary smartphone will come up with a shiny new price tag for AppleCare+ insurance.
As MacRumors reports, AppleCare+ volition cost $199 for the iPhone X. The same coverage costs $129, or $70 less, for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7.
Apple too reportedly decided to quietly jack up the price of AppleCare+ for all iPhone Plus models by $20. That brings the price of AppleCare+ upwards to $149 for the iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone 6s Plus.
Every iPhone comes with one year of hardware repair coverage and up to xc days of costless support. AppleCare+ extends that coverage for another year and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage at $29 for a screen repair, or $99 for any other damage, plus tax. You can become AppleCare+ when you buy a new device or within 60 days of your purchase.
Meanwhile, Apple has also raised the price of off-warranty screen repairs. Without a warranty, a new screen will set you dorsum $169 for the iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone vii Plus, and iPhone 6s Plus, or $149 for the iPhone viii, iPhone 7, or iPhone 6s. As MacRumors notes, that'south $20 more than Apple used to charge.
The iPhone X starts at $999 and comes in 64GB and 256GB versions and space grey or silver; it volition be bachelor for pre-order on Oct. 27 and launches November. 3. The iPhone 8 starts at $699 and the Plus is $100 more. Pre-orders brainstorm this Friday and the phones are slated to arrive on Sept. 19.
